The ARRL® is encouraging clubs to host an Amateur Radio Open House in celebration of World Amateur Radio Day on April 18. In celebration of the IARU's 100th anniversary, the League invites radio clubs and schools to host an open house in April — but does not provide the resources to help promote your event. That is where NARA comes in.
We are here to support you, elevate your efforts, and get the word out about your club's event. To help, we are sharing a press release template you can customize for your club: use it to spread the word in your community, attract new members, and showcase the excitement of ham radio. It is available on our group page, and members can request it from us directly.
World Amateur Radio Day falls on April 18, the anniversary of the founding of the International Amateur Radio Union in 1925. An open house is the simplest, most effective recruiting tool the hobby has: put a working station in front of people who have never seen one, let them hear a contact, and answer their questions.
