National Officers
NARA’s National Board members are elected by the membership to provide vision, direction, and accountability for NARA’s mission. National Officers ensure that the organization remains member-driven, transparent, and responsive to the needs of the amateur radio community. Territory Board Members provide leadership and oversight across NARA’s three territories—Eastern, Central, and Western. They ensure that the voices of operators from their territories are represented at the national level. Territory Board Members help guide policy, support initiatives, and work alongside State and Regional Representatives to connect local concerns with national priorities.
Territory Representatives
NARA is organized into three territories (Eastern, Central, and Western), ten regions, and individual states. This structure ensures that every member has representation close to home while still being connected to the broader national community.
Our territory, regional, and state representatives serve as dedicated ambassadors for both the organization and the hobby. They work tirelessly to represent the interests of members in their areas — whether it’s bringing your concerns directly to the Board, supporting local initiatives, or promoting amateur radio at events and within their communities. These representatives are your voice and your allies, ensuring that the values, needs, and ideas of operators across the country are always heard and respected.
If you’re passionate about serving the amateur radio community and would like to take on a leadership role as a representative, we encourage you to reach out — we’re always looking for committed individuals who want to make a difference.
Regional Representatives
Regional Representatives provide leadership across multiple states within their region, offering guidance and support to State Representatives. Serving as a bridge between local concerns and the national Board, they help shape initiatives and programs that reflect the real needs of operators throughout their areas. The ten Regional Representatives also serve as an advisory body to the Board of Directors, ensuring that diverse perspectives are heard. By fostering consistent communication and representation, they play a vital role in connecting NARA members nationwide.
State Ambassadors
State Representatives serve as local ambassadors for NARA, connecting members within their state to the organization and ensuring that the unique needs of operators are represented at the national level. They advocate for members’ interests, support state-level initiatives, and work closely with clubs, organizations, and individual operators to strengthen participation in amateur radio. Whether by promoting licensing classes, public outreach, operating events, or emergency communications efforts, State Representatives help foster collaboration and community engagement. By maintaining strong relationships with both grassroots operators and Regional Representatives, they ensure that local voices are heard, state-level priorities are advanced, and NARA’s broader mission is carried out effectively across every state.
